The Legion Park to Route 66 Trail is a new trail located along Flat Creek, in Eureka, Missouri.

Intuition & Logic provided final design and construction documents for pavement, culverts, retaining walls for this trail connecting Legion Park and Lions Park to Kircher Park and on to Route 66 State Park. The project included the design of a 5,200 lineal feet of 10 foot wide asphalt trail, 42” and 48” pipe culverts with scour protection at the culvert outfalls, 600 square feet of modular block retaining wall, 404 Permitting, HEC-RAS modeling, FEMA No-Rise Certifications, preparation of easements, as well as successful coordination with utilities to avoid any relocations on the project. The project also involves coordination with USACE regarding possible impacts to riparian corridor enhancements and that the final design meets ADA guidelines for accessibility.

Construction services included responding to RFI’s, shop drawing review and preparing change orders.  Intuition & Logic also coordinated and prepared the documentation and construction inspection logs in support of MoDOT local public agency (LPA) funding requirements.

The design was completed in 2010, and construction completed in 2012.
